No need to build a campfire to enjoy the chocolate, marshmallow, and graham cracker flavors of S'mores! These easy Mini S'mores Pies are just 3 ingredients and ready in minutes in your oven or air fryer. Served with spoon, they are a tasty alternative to the traditional sandwiches.

These Smores mini pies are the perfect size to share with someone special or all by yourself with a tall glass of milk.

I love a good old-fashioned ooey gooey, sticky, toasted-marshmallow-filled s'mores sandwich made by a campfire. But to be honest, I don't love the mosquitos and humidity here in Alabama that accompany the camping experience.

If you're like me and looking for alternatives to the classic S'mores sandwich, this is a super easy recipe to try. It's definitely less messy, served with a spoon, and no one has to build a fire or cut hickory sticks for roasting marshmallows.

Another delicious idea for a camping-themed indoor party is my Campfire S'mores Cupcakes. I give you both a shortcut version and the homemade marshmallow frosting version! I made them for my son's Eagle Scout celebration several years ago.

    Shortcuts

    • No camping bonfire needed.
    • Mini graham cracker pre-made pie crusts
    • Air fryer version below doesn't even need to preheat

    Ingredients for S'mores pies

Scroll down to printable recipe for ingredient quantities.

Ingredients for mini smores pies: Hershey chocolate bar, marshmallows, mini graham cracker pie shells.
    • Two full-size Hershey's chocolate bars
    • Mini marshmallows
    • Mini graham cracker pie crusts

How to make mini smores pies

Scroll down to the bottom for the printable recipe with detailed instructions.

Mini graham cracker pie crusts, marshmallows on marble surface, chocolate bars cut up: assembling pies.

    • Place 4 pieces of chocolate bar in the bottom of each crust.
    • Top with mini marshmallows.
    • Place the S'mores pies on a baking sheet in a single layer.
    • Bake according to directions in the printable recipe below.

    Substitutions & Variations

    • S'Mores Pie - Make a full-size pie by using one 9-inch pre-made graham cracker crust and put all the chocolate pieces in the bottom of it, then top with all the marshmallows...or even more! Bake at 350F for about 4 to 5 minutes.
    • Dark Chocolate- As you can see, I chose the dark chocolate bars rather than milk chocolate. Try chocolate bars with almonds!
    • Chocolate Chips- Sprinkle one or two tablespoons chocolate chips in the pies instead of chocolate bar.
    • Miniature size chocolate bars- This recipe is a great way to use leftover Halloween candy.
    • Large Marshmallows- Cut large marshmallow in half, sticky side down.
    • Chocolate-filled Marshmallow- Make it a 2 ingredient recipe and fill the graham cracker pies with Stuffed Puffs.

    Air Fryer Mini Smores Pies

A basket-style air fryer can fit about three of these Mini S'mores Pies. A larger, oven-style air fryer could possibly fit all six of them.

Three mini smores pies in air fryer basket before toasting.

How to make Air Fryer Mini S'mores Pies

    • Place 4 pieces of Hershey's chocolate bar in bottom of each pie crust and top with about 15 miniature marshmallows.
    • Place the layered graham cracker pie crusts in the air fryer and cook on BAKE or AIR FRY for 1 minute at a time until marshmallows are golden and chocolate is melted. Check after each minute to make sure the marshmallows haven't moved and the level of "golden" you prefer.

Any hotter than 350F in an air fryer, I found that the marshmallows burned before the chocolate could melt.

Pro Tip: If you have a BAKE setting on your air fryer, choose that one. It prevents or reduces the amount of circulated air which may cause the marshmallows to move around.

    Helpful Information

    Can I reheat S'mores Pies

Yes. I was surprised how the marshmallows puffed up again when I reheated them for a minute or two in the oven and air fryer. So, this makes it a make ahead recipe.

    How to serve S'mores Pies

With a spoon! I found these cute blue camping spoons at a thrift store. They definitely need to be served warm but not piping hot, kinda like a S'Mores sandwich is served.

    How to store and reheat

Store these little pies at room temperature and not in the refrigerator, covered or in an air tight container. I was surprised how they actually reheated well in the oven and air fryer for just a minute or two.

    The marshmallows puffed right up.

    Prep Time 4 minutes mins
    Cook Time 5 minutes mins
    Total Time 9 minutes mins
    Servings 6 servings

    Equipment

    • air fryer
Prevent your screen from going dark

    Ingredients

    • 2 (1.45-ounce) bars milk or dark chocolate (I used Hershey's) (or 3 ounces of any thin chocolate bar)
    • 1 (4-ounce) package mini graham cracker crusts (contains 6 crusts) (I used Keebler ready crusts)
    • 1 ½ cups miniature marshmallows

    Instructions

    • Preheat oven to 375F degrees. (See air fryer directions in NOTES)
    • Break apart the chocolate bars into 12 pieces each. Place 4 pieces in the bottom of each graham cracker pie crusts.
    • Sprinkle the marshmallows evenly over the top of the chocolate.
    • Place the pie crusts on a baking sheet or directly on the oven grates. The baking sheet makes it easier to bring them out of the oven.
    • Bake for 5 minutes or just until the marshmallows are as toasty as you like.
    • Let cool slightly before eating because the marshmallows centers will be very hot and sticky.

    Notes

Large marshmallows can be cut in half and substituted for mini marshmallows.
Chocolate chips or other chocolate bars can be substituted for the candy bar.
How to make Mini Smores Pies in the Air Fryer:
    • Place four pieces of chocolate in the bottom of each pie crust and top with marshmallows.
    • Place the layered graham cracker pie crusts in the air fryer and cook on BAKE or AIR FRY for 1 minute at a time until marshmallows are golden and chocolate is melted. Check after each minute to make sure the marshmallows haven't moved and the level of "golden" you prefer.
