This easy Shortcut Mocha Punch is more of a brilliant party hack or tip, rather than a full recipe for mocha ice coffee punch. In just 5 minutes, it blends together the creamy, sweet flavor of chocolate and iced coffee with dollops of whipped cream or ice cream to create an easy punch recipe worthy of any special occasion.

You might call this 'cheaters mocha punch' since it just has two ingredients unless you gild the lily and garnish it with chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.

Another way to serve this easy nonalcoholic punch is in a glass pitcher on a tray in Irish coffee glass mugs or glass mugs. I bought these mugs at my local thrift store but you can find them online or where espresso mugs are sold locally.

Serving it this more casual way is perfect for Friendsgiving or small gatherings.

Speaking of special occasions, we served this mocha punch "recipe" with ice cream for my son’s wedding. My new daughter-in-love is partial to mocha iced coffee, so she requested something similar to serve as a punch.

This is the 2-ingredient, super easy idea I came up with!

It was easy to have my friend simply pour the mocha iced coffee into the punch bowl right before guests arrived and scoop vanilla and chocolate ice cream in the bowl as needed.

The punch was almost gone at the wedding before I could take a picture of it!

It was a small wedding so we just used 2 or 3 cartons of iced coffee so the punch is easily doubled, tripled, quadrupled... you get the idea.

The recipe may not have been an heirloom, handed-down recipe, but we served it in my Grandma Wilson’s Fostoria punch bowl. So, it was a special way to include family members that couldn't be there to share the memory.

If you’re looking for easy Christmas punch recipes or punch recipes for baby showers or gender reveal parties, it doesn’t get much prettier or easier than this one.

    Ingredients

What you will need to make this mocha chocolate punch recipe. It's a SHORT list!

Scroll down to printable recipe for exact ingredient quantities.

Ingredients for mocha punch or iced mocha coffee: mocha coffee, ice cream, whipped cream.
    • Mocha-Flavored Iced Coffee - A carton of your favorite brand. This one is from Aldi but International Delight is a popular brand at large grocery stores. You can also make your own mocha ice coffee (see below for my recipe).
    • Sweetened Whipped Cream - Cool Whip, Reddi Whip, or even softened vanilla ice cream.

I’m a teetotaler, but you could add a little Kahlua (coffee-flavored liqueur) to the punch, if you liked, for an easy alcoholic punch recipe for a New Years Eve party.

How to make your own iced mocha coffee

I found 64-ounce cartons of iced mocha coffee from $3.59 to almost $8, so making your own could save you a lot of money if you are making a large amount of Mocha Punch.

How to make your own mocha iced coffee - Combine 4 cups strong brewed coffee (chilled), 3 cups milk (2%, whole milk, almond, oat milk) and ⅓ cup chocolate syrup. Serve over ice cubes.

If you like your mocha iced coffee a little sweeter, stir in a little sugar to the hot brewed coffee before chilling it.

    Variations & Add-ins

Trade "this" for "that" in this mocha coffee punch recipe.

    • Add your favorite ice cream: vanilla, chocolate, or coffee.
    • Grate a bittersweet or semisweet baking bar over the whipped cream, using a vegetable peeler or cheese grater.
    • Sprinkle with cocoa powder using a fine mesh sieve or tea strainer.

    Mocha Milkshake

Blend 2 (⅓ cup) scoops of ice cream and ½ cup mocha iced coffee in a blender. Pour into glasses, tall coffee mugs, or pint Mason jars. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and serve with a straw.

    Shortcut Homemade Mocha Frappe

For each serving, freeze ¾ cup strong brewed coffee in ice cube trays. In a blender, combine frozen coffee cubes, ½ cup milk (2% or whole milk - any milk will do) and 1 to 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup. Blend until smooth.

Fix It Faster: Just blend about ½ cup ice cubes with the cold coffee, milk and chocolate syrup for a lighter, icy version.

Fix It Fancy: For an eye catching look, drizzle chocolate sauce on the inside sides of a glass tumbler or glass coffee mug BEFORE pouring in the mocha frappe.

    Helpful information

Can I make this ahead of time?

There's really nothing to make ahead of time for the punch since you just pour and serve. But! If serving with ice cream on top, you could actually scoop the ice cream balls again of time. Scoop the balls onto a baking sheet lined with wax or parchment paper. Freeze until firm, the place them all in a freezer container and then use tongs to drop them in the punch bowl when ready to serve.
