It's front porch sittin' and sweet tea sippin' time here in Alabama! This 2 ingredient Frozen Strawberry and Sweet Tea Lemonade combines two of my favorite Southern drinks: strawberry lemonade and sweet tea. Now that's a new Southern twist!

Two parfait glasses full to the top of frozen strawberry lemonade with a swirl on top.

This recipe was sponsored by Southern Breeze.

I first made it with Southern Breeze Half and Half-flavored zero calorie sweet tea bags. You can also make this slushy drink using lemonade and sweet tea if you don't mind the sugar.

Either way, it's quick, easy and refreshing!

    Sweet inspiration

When I looked on Pinterest to get a general idea of how many strawberries, how much ice, and how much liquid, I was surprised to see how much sugar was used in many of the recipes.

I did like the idea of using just frozen strawberries instead of adding ice-because you know I'm all about shortcuts in my recipes. That eliminated one ingredient. You've probably frozen bananas before to add to a smoothie. This is the same idea.

How to make Frozen Strawberry Sweet Tea Lemonade

    Freeze your own strawberries

Avoid the extra sugar from the strawberries frozen in syrup and get the most vibrant red color by freezing your own fresh strawberries.

To freeze fresh strawberries freeze in mini muffin pans; green hulls removed with a knife.

To freeze fresh strawberries remove the green caps first. Then freeze in mini muffin pans or a cookie sheet depending on how many you want to freeze.

I can make this refreshing drink one at a time in my Magic Bullet Mini blender.

After 2 hours, fresh strawberries should be frozen. The Magic Bullet blender will hold about 5 medium size strawberries. After 2 hours, fresh strawberries should be frozen.

Blend the ingredients in the blender

The Magic Bullet blender will hold about 5 medium size strawberries.

Add 1/2 cup of Southern Breeze Half and Half flavor sweet tea and blend until smooth.

Voila! Frozen Strawberry and Sweet Tea Lemonade.

Done. 2 Ingredients. 20 calories. Yes please!

    You can't beat that with a stick! It's a delicious win/win.

    How to store frozen strawberries

Pack frozen fresh strawberries in a zip top plastic bag after freezing them in muffin tins.

This way it's easy to pull just a few out at a time to make Frozen Strawberry and Sweet Tea Lemonade any time.

    What's the Shortcut?

The half and half flavor (half lemonade, half sweet tea) is the perfect flavor to make this frozen lemonade/tea.

It also creates another shortcut because it has the lemonade And sweet tea flavors with just ONE ingredient.

I first made it with Southern Breeze Half and Half-flavored zero calorie sweet tea bags but also make it with purchased lemonade/sweet tea blend and it's still 2 ingredients but it does add some calories.

    Ingredients

    • 5 medium frozen strawberries
    • 1/2 cup prepared half and half flavor Southern Breeze Sweet Tea (or other half sweet tea/half lemonade mixture) (according to package directions)

    Instructions

    • Place the strawberries in a Magic Bullet mini blender or other small powerful blender.
    • Add half and half (half lemonade, half sweet tea) flavor tea. top with the lid and process until smooth. That's it! No ice needed. Pour into a glass and garnish with lemon slices and a strawberry, if you like!

    Notes

To prepare the Southern Breeze half and half flavored sweet tea, simply pour 8 oz (1 cup) of cold water over 1 tea bag, let step for 5 or 6 minutes. Toss out the tea bag.
Enjoy the extra 1/2 cup of prepared tea immediately or save it in the fridge for the next day.
*To make Frozen Strawberry and Sweet Tea Lemonade with sweet tea and lemonade, just replace the zero calorie lemonade-flavored tea with half sweet tea and half lemonade.
