This shortcut coffee punch recipe is the easiest coffee punch you can make! It comes together in less than 10 minutes with cold brew coffee and ice cream. It's a showstopper and a crowd pleaser! It's a small batch recipe but easily doubles and triples.
2cupshalf and half (half whipping cream/half whole milk)
3cupscoffee or vanilla ice cream (or combination of both)(Chocolate ice cream for a mocha flavor)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine cold brew coffee and sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. (See Notes for tip to dissolve sugar faster.) Keep in the fridge until ready to serve.
Just before serving, slowly pour the chilled coffee into a punch bowl or large glass pitcher.
Scoop the ice cream into ½-cup portions and carefully place them on top of the punch.
Serve immediately with a ladle. The ice cream will melt into the punch as you serve it, so expect your drink to be rich and creamy.
Tip: If you are making your own strong brewed coffee, add the sugar while it's still hot, then chill it. This will easily dissolve the sugar.
The punch can also be served in coffee cups, tea cups or mugs if serving for brunch or small gathering.
Notes
Dissolve sugar faster:Sugar doesn’t always dissolve easily in cold liquid. Speed up the process by mixing it with ¼ cup of hot water before adding it to the cold brew. Tips:Ice can dilute the coffee punch, so if you want it extra cold, freeze some of the cold brew into ice cubes and use those instead. You can also make an old-fashioned ice ring with cold brew by freezing 2 cups in the bottom of a bundt pan.
Make your coffee punch ahead up to 2 days—partially. Mix the cold brew, sugar, and half-and-half in advance and store it in the fridge. Just wait to add the ice cream until right before serving.
If you like it less sweet, start with ¼ cup of sugar and adjust as needed. Remember, you can always add more, but you can’t take it out.
If you make your own strong brewed coffee, be sure to plan ahead so you have time to completely chill the coffee. Warm coffee melts the ice faster and who wants lukewarm punch?!
